Was a sad day when terry retired try and listen to him on sundays when i can, what makes it even worse is that we now have to put up with that ginger inbred tosser evans and for fucking 3 hours not 2 like terry only had.
-
@timelords1963 Johnny Walker didn't want it apparently, long before Terry announced his departure.
-
I was in tears while listening to this and Anthony Newley's "Party's Over" didn't help!

Terry was always someone who was on in my household and on those school journeys I had him. So when I moved out it was like having a little bit of home. Terry was there the jokes were there and it was like a family. A very sad day when Terry left and unfortunately Radio 2 Breakfast isnt like it was there will be no one like Terry Thank you for being our friend like we were to you

I'm not much for radio to be honest, but even to me, Terry is a legend. This was a fitting and emotional farewell, just what the great man deserves

Always listened to Terry whenever I could - barely a link of his would go by without something to make me laugh.
I haven't heard a second of Chris's show since he started on breakfast.
-
Personally I can tolerate Chris Evans.
Whoever tried to step into Terry Wogans shoes would have had a hard task - the guy is an intitution.
I agree that Johnny Walker would have been a good candidate, but it is what it is and Chris Evans is the BBC's choice - he does ok.
BUT........ I DO miss Terry Wogan, if I'm honest

This morning was not the same without....
I know it's not giving Chris a chance but you are so, so the very best - life won't be the same!!
I am 45 years of age now and listen(ed) to Terry every morning on the way to work - I first heard Terry when I was 8 years of age whilst getting dressed for infant school, no broadcaster in the UK posessess the warmth, humour and kindness of spirit. In other words Terry, you really are irreplaceable. The jewels of this nation are not to be found in the Tower of London set in crowns, but are found in people like Terry who mean so much to so many in the simplest of ways.

A quite brilliant speech. A mixed bag of happy memories and the sadness yet appreciation of the end of an era. Terry will be missed, but best of luck to Chris Evans.
