Claviorganum, Claudio Brizi.

1. Aria detta La Frescobalda (by Girolamo Frescobaldi)
2. Ballo del Granduca (Jan P. Sweelinck)

The picture in the video is not quite same as one artist here uses.

  • Did you source a set of plans or design it yourself? How many courses of strings and organ stops?

    Every Blessing

    Tony

  • @revtonynewnham, I don't see how you get the idea that I built this. I just uploaded the video my friend made (and even the instrument pictured in the video is not correct).

  • sounds almost identical to the Harpsichord

  • @SkpD1991, maybe if you listen to the whole video you'll hear the organ playing too. The claviorganum is a harpsichord and a small organ combined.

  • This is a wonderful instrument and the first time I have heard one. I want one too so will build it myself as I have with other instruments one cant buy. I found that building instruments allows one to appreciate them all the more. Building musical instruments yourself is quite easy but does require planning and patience.

  • @fnersch, I agree totally. With that kind of thinking I must say you truly are a connoisseur. I only wish I had the knowledge and the resources to build my own instruments as I can't afford anything at this stage.

  • @HandelHalv, I don't know who made this particular one, but that's you and me both wanting one!

  • @dperroni, I don't think so. Not like a normal organ does anyway, if anything I'd expect to find the typical stops that you usually do on a cembalo.

  • This claviorgan is awesome! Who made it? I want one!!!
