length of being together doesn't make a band great, and neither does the size of it's fan base. It doesn't even involve opinions, DMB is much more talented and much more diverse in every way possible. PJ has a larger fan base yet DMB is one of only two bands to have FIVE albums debut at #1. PJ had one that barley made the top.

That has to do with anticipation of an album, not the album itself. That's why they tend to debut at #1, but not stay there for long. But it's an opinion thing, I will just always love and respect Pearl Jam more. Cause in my opinion their music is better, and that's it.

there is anticipation for any album for any band. Did I mention that they purposely leaked the full album and they even allowed you to "rip" it from their site. Their intention is not to sell their music, they encourage ppl to torrent and share their music. Yet they STILL managed to have 5 albums debut at #1. I respect your opinion, but compare DMB's riffs with PJ's riffs and the difference in drumming patterns, DMB is much better. But foo fighters is great BTW

I'm not talking about how any specific instrument is played, it's more about how all the instruments come together. Anyway, I'm done with this conversation. It's cool if you think DMB is better, even if they are I still prefer Pearl Jam's music overall. Whut do you hope to convince me of, anyway? I'm not going to change my views and neither are you...

I don't know why people are comparing DMB to PJ in the first place, I'm not really sure what there is to compare. I'm more biased towards pearl jam just because they're my favorite band and in MY opinion I feel like the lyrics are better, but nothing against DMB, big whiskey is a GREAT album,
