  • dude, if you are referring to the first action shown... that's called quan sau and it always employs both hands.. furthermore he never chases hands.. this action is one part of the one hand cover two techniques in gary's system.. so if u look closely u will see that he's not chasing one hand with two of his own.. in fact he is controlling the two hands of his opponent with one hand, with steady focus on his centerline..

  • Explanations are so clear, every video I have seen is fantastic, you are a true Master in my oppinion Sifu Lam, only wish you would venture down to New Zealand someday. Many thanks.

  • As great as Gary Lam is...these moves will not work in real life. The first move, the moment someone completes his punch, he will recover his arm....not leave it out and strike with the other arm and get it trapped. The second move with the bong sau and lap sau. It would have to be modified to scissor hands to pull off the lap...or else all the is good for is a block. The opponent will not pose and go super slow speed when in a fight.

  • Ah I learned something today-grab wrist no tan-cool.

  • Well said ditschester, and also you can change a few different ways after applying the kwan sau not just this sequence. It does work against other styles I have tried it and it worked for me but you must understand cover hand to really benefit from this!

    Wsl student!

  • @stopcicles maybe you werent paying attention. its not all counters to straight punches, their techniques work well against all types of boxing punches, hooks, crosses, whatever

wing chun is the art of hand chess, it wouldnt matter what style of striking you do. all styles of striking subscribe to the same human anatomy, and wing chun is definitely trained on that..

  • So do you have any counters to someone who doesn't punch like a faggot?

  • No good getting ourselves up in this phenomenal existence about garbage and sickness. If you are happy in your martial art, then carry on as a being of light and never let the miserable noise of the insane apes and poisoner fools disrupt you and your delicious path.

  • @Alanwingchun i don't believe....lmao

  • Like watching Gary, his wing chun is obviously very good and he seems like a nice grounded guy. If someone doesn't see the value in whats there, thats their opinion and in my opinion their loss, but I'm not gonna lose no sleep over other's opinions or bother arguing with others about them, hey I'll use wing chun principle and be efficient in my use of energy.

  • ok go watch emin boztepe or victor gutierez they all are from eruopean wing tsun and you see the difrent just stay ther and do chi sao thats ollllld fasion against e real boxer orfighter on the street with gary lam style you get ass kikkt belive me ,

  • @Alanwingchun lmao..any kung fu system is for the street home skillet...it doesnt matter if the style is old/traditional..it is about what WORKS....even if you have the newest style out there, it doesn't necessarily mean it works...think about it..if the this style of wing chun is "old" why do think is is still in existence? BECAUSE IT WORKS...what i would be worried about is the new styles because it has yet to be proven in the streets. this "old" style has been proven countless times
