  • When the narrator says that the gas rover has "one hundred and seventy eight horsepower" and then that the electric has "twenty", does he mean it has "(one hundred and) twenty" or just "twenty"?

  • just 20. The difference is the electric motor has 100% HP and 100% torque at near zero RPM.

  • that range rover doesn't look new, it looks like the 1980's model

  • Yes, the video says it's a 1989.

  • forget horsepower, it's all about torque. HP is only a product of torque. electric motors have full torque available right from the outset, i.e. even at 1 rpm... fuel based engines or IC engines need to develop torque by revving, in the case of a diesel at lower revs (as compression ratio is much higher) and with petrol engines at higher revs. You can't stall an electric as you can an IC... one day electrics will win. Still a few obstacles to overcome (battery technology etc).

  • This landrover has no radiator and uses a FB1-4001 Series Wound DC 9" motor using a DCP-1200 Raptor controller powered by 12 x 12 volt batteries . The motor produces 19 hp , 85 hp (peak). as long as the controller does not get wet (dash mounted) it can wade safely in water. It has been tested in a UK Land Rover magazine against an identical vintage swb but petrol (gas) powered and it performed better on all counts but range this however is overcome with a generator mounted in the rear bed

  • this land rover has no radiator check out wilde evolutions for engine bay photo it has a FB1-4001 Series Wound DC 9" motor and runs on 144 volts

  • Chad

I'm gunna stick my neck out here. Is this the same chad i sent the light surrounds to?

    Good vid anyway.

    Terry

  • Some people are just thick !!!

Its a dc motor .... brushless !!! probably water cooled .. small electric pump circulating the water using the cars existing radiator .... of course it can ford water ... unless they are using a very old tech air colled brushed motor ....

  • AC or DC ?

  • and how was it made ????

  • electric land rover - where can i get one ????

  • May I know how was this electric LR made? Can it ford water?

  • Actually, its at any RPM be it zero, 1,000, or even in the opposite direction its trying to run
