Guitar Hero 2 backup without mods-better

Like the title, loading a "custom" backup without a mod chip or swapmagic using only the original and a home made slide tool. Timing to open is about 11-12 seconds after ps2 logo.

Swap Tutorial: READ IT ALL FIRST!
1. Make a slide card by whatever means (old credit card, etc.) using pictures on internet.
2. Make Backup and custom game file and make said disc.
3. Turn on ps2 with original in it. Wait for PLAYSTATION 2 logo and listen to ps2.
---A: Just before the Ps2 logo appears, you'll hear a shift of the motor/lens inside.
---B: Just AFTER the ps2 logo dissappears, you'll hear another shift noise, This is Click #1.
---C: About 2-3 second after click #1 you'll hear click #2.
IMPORTANT!
---D: after click #2 Count off 4 short seconds,but instead of 1-mississippi,
count halves (1-missis-2-missis-3-missis-4-) to 4 AND OPEN!.
---E: now while you have the ps2 openSwap your disc and you'll hear the lens adjusting trying to read once per second. You have till the around the fifth noise to swap and close it.
That should be it! A quick chirp and 2 seconds and you should see the red octane logo!
Practice til you get the hang of it, and it works everytime.
I don't have GH1 so it's untested if someone wants to try to figure out the timing.

When I switch them my disk spins then beeps then spins then beeps and just keeps doing that!

that usually means you're switching the disk too late. if it just spins up with no other noise at all, then too early. if its done correctly, it should load the second disk within just a few seconds

if you force it.there is a chance. just have to be careful. if you force it you may break the locking pin off.

slide tool can be risky

get swap magic coder and use it to install fmcb on your ps2 memory card then theres not swap needed. in fact you dont even need the original game

YES it DOES work on the slim, there's simply a little button you have to tape down.

Is the "timing window" for swapping the disk the same as on a slim?

no because when you open the slim it resets or something.there is a way to do this though
