The ONLY time this happens to me with Directv is when it's REALLY POURING rain. If it's a moderate typical rain or snow I don't lose signal. I'm happy! With Dish Network, I would lose signal even on a clear, non-windy day. Dish came out three times and the signal was fine. They let me out of my contract and I went to Directv. So much better!!!!!!!

I had DirecTV in two different towns, and one had occasional outages during bad weather, while the other one pretty much had no loss at all. A lot of the time it's just location, no matter how you position the dish.

forget the signal, check your gas pipes

What none of u seem to realize is that if your installer did a shitty job on your dish of course the signal is going to suck because it probably moved. Even a fraction of an inch of movement is enough to cause the SFSS message. It has nothing to do with the quality of the broadcasting and everything to do with our workmanship. I would know because I fix shitty installs every day. Yes there is still a problem with our signal sometimes, but lets point the finger in the right direction.

@giovanni2015 I call BS on time warner being better!! My TV constantly cuts in and out, goes pixelated, and even turns black and white CONSTANTLY. I cannot watch a single 30 minute show without it cutting out or going black and white. I have called them and asked them to up the signal power but they just say it is as high as it will go and if they put it any higher it will blow out my box. Yet my internet is fine and is transmitted on the same lines.
This is the truth about how good is the DirecTV signal during bad weather conditions
Do not believe in those commercials, there is not such a thing like 99 % reliable signal during bad weather, oh and they charge you for sending you a technician to reconnect the signal!!
