I can understand the need for intel but I don't get why the show is trying to make us worry about an attack on Earth. All the Alliance has is a bunch of Hatak vessels. Meanwhile Earth has like 3 or 4 Deadealus class ships with asgard shields and weapons capable of destroying Ori (basically ancient power level) ships. Not to mention the Ancient weapon in Antarctica.

Oh wait, the average SGU viewer doesn't know that.

@Tatchko The Ancient Chair ("weapon") was taken out of Antarctica and moved to Area 51, which was destroyed in Stargate Atlantis while defending earth from the Wraith Super-hive ship.

But yeah anti-ori weapons ftw =P

@Tatchko STFU. Did you possibly think that maybe they've gained more technology. Maybe they've infiltrated further? Have people inside SGC able to control one of the ships? Or perhaps, maybe just maybe, they haven't got a clue when the attack will happen and thereby can't do anything to stop it, not matter how many ships they have? Stop being a smart arse and watch the show or don't.

This is set before sg1 and sga so the aztecs aren't dead and sg don't have lots of firepower.

Yeah they have ships. But because of the ori incursion into the mikly way most of the jaffas ships were destroyed. And the Tokra those guys dont really have battleships. Its mainly just transports.

@Tatchko Weapon in antartica is useless (no more chair). The ships can defend earth yes, and even a full out assault earth would (probably) win. But, the attacks would be hit and run. Think suicide bombings. We saw it in 1 episode already. Land a cargo ship, blow it with some bombs inside, boom a city gone. The alliance wouldn't be bold enough (or stupid enough) to do a direct assault with all their ships.

Why is everyone assuming the Alliance attack would be by ships? They might ferry troops with cloaked freighters. Take the gate and swarm. After all if they want to controll the planet they will need to land a LOT of infintry anyway. Unless they just intend to disable the Tauri. In that case they just have to turn up. Bomb pre marked targets and f off.
