Backing Track, E Minor http://www.coffeebreakgrooves.com
Produced by Jeff Carruthers from the Suite Grooves construction kit DVD
Jeff Carruthers: guitars, keys, drum programing
Roberto Valley: bass
Dave Hopper: live drums
Hans Zermeuhlen: Rhodes
Ronnie Guittierez: percussion
available at http://www.bigfishaudio.com/detail.html?1283
The chords being played are E minor 9 and A 13
Try using scales in B minor as you can think of these chords as being the 2 and the 5 of D Major
B Minor is the relative Minor of D and also very close to E Minor 9

  • I'd just like to point out the coffeebreak suggestion is not the only way to approach it. You can treat the Em9 as the 1 chord, and the A13 as the 4 chord. You can use E Dorian with a little E minor pentatonic sprinkled in and it works just fine.

  • G.B. would play around D blues...

  • Porn music

  • I have so much fun with this one. thank you so much!

  • @SixStringLovin exactly what i was going to say, dorian is a much better way of approaching jazz improv as you can learn all the chromatic lines and shapes that the top jazz players use, and they mainly base their ideas on the dorian mode, for those who don't know what the dorian mode is, it would be E Fsharp G A B Csharp D and the formula is R 2 b3 4 5 6 b7

  • I only wish I could show you guys what I do with this, on soft and sustained leads. Im no techy, just another player.

  • You guys make great backing tracks, they have a lot of room.

B minor sounds jazzy to me, E blues sounds real bluesy. Either will work, I like them both. They don't mix well though.

  • It is not Eminor but Bminor (or Dmajor that is the relative...) please be carefull thanks...
