  • There's a disturbance in the force...

  • @jonwasx That's how you see midi-chlorians.

  • we are all FISH!!!

  • @KukiKruch You are quite right. We all swim in the "sea" of air molecules. Too bad that we are too dense and always sink to the bottom. If we had a little buoyancy, we could have made it above the clouds.

  • They are talking about the "Schlieren Technik" but they pronounce Schlieren SOOOO BAAD!!...

Im a native german speaker and it took me a loong time to understand to which german word they are referring too... D:!

  • @Pandamonia101 You are right about the thermodynamic heat flow. You forgot to consider the expansion due to heat which in turn reduces the density of that pocket of air. Then buoyancy kicks in which causes the less dense (hot) air to rise relative to surrounding denser air. That is how hot air balloon works. Sea breeze in day time and mountain breeze at night go by the same convection mechanism too. Buoyancy, density and gravity are the key of the convection phenomenon. No convection in space.

  • WAIT!!!!!!!!!! You know how when you have a sunburn you can feel heat coming off of it.. like real heat rising away from the burn!??! They should use this to see if it actually does!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @cplai There's a kind of schlieren that can do that using the sun somehow. The Wikipedia article on schlieren photography has a picture of a T-38 taken using that setup.

  • avatar the last "air-bender"

  • @Mattteus ah, acetone

  • 1:16, pouring CO2?
