Boy in balloon from Colorado named "Falcon Heeney". Boy is from "Wife Swap" show on ABC. Estranged parents who are storm tornado chasers lose child in flying saucer balloon.
This is all over the CNN website as well, that is the report about Sheriff Alderdon finally calling the whole thing a hoax planned by the family, and them being charged with conspiracy, etc.
I just read an atricle from the Associated Press (AP) from 10-18-09. Sheriff Alderdon now is charging the family with all of this being a hoax. The authorities seized computer documents, emails, etc. from the Heene's home that shows this was a hoax in the making for a reality tv show that the Heene's were trying to land. According to the AP article, Richard Heene only has a high school education so he's not even a real scientist. CPS is being called to invesitgate the children.
Why should anyone believe Richard Heene or "some" of his story: (cont'd)
3. At first, Richard believed that his son was in that balloon hiding, but tried to capitalize on it to get publicity rather than just focusing on helping his kid.
4. Who knows for sure? But there is evidence to support both sides but perhaps there's just enough to give credibility to at least some of his story to where perhaps enough to avoid him from getting arrested.
Why should anyone believe Richard Heene or "some" of his story maybe:
1. The boy originally said the real reason why he hid, and it was to keep from getting in trouble by his dad. So maybe when Falcon said during an CNN interview that it was "for a show", he did mean something else other than the reason he hid. Otherwise, his story is inconsistent.
2. According to sheriff Alderdon and his expert resources, a boy weighing as much as Falcon could float in that balloon.
1. He didn't call the cops, FiRST, but instead he calls the FAA and *a NEWS channel and tells them to provide a helicopter. Then he calls the cops, last? hmmm.
2. It was originally reported that only the kids witnessed the balloon taking off and now there's video of the parents standing right there when the balloon took off.
3. Can someone say idiot? (smack yourself Richard).

I'm not sure if I believe Richard Heene's story.
Negatives
1. He didn't call the cops, FiRST, but instead he calls the FAA and *a NEWS channel and tells them to provide a helicopter. Then he calls the cops, last? hmmm.
