Complete sermon from 1963 which gives a concise and proper orientation to the first steps of the Christian walk. We may disagree on a few points but the basic message is there; please do not throw the baby out with the bath water and please do not FEAR of being mislead; a true follower of Christ is told from the Bible to "try the spirts" and to "have our senses excercised to discern good from evil" and if you "ask God for bread, He will not give you a stone". Let peace rule your hearts and minds.

  • I say good video, it needs God's plan of salvation according to Acts 2:38. This is the way the church got started and the Jews, Gentiles, and Samaritans all came the same way. Acts 2:4, 2:38, 10:44--48, 19:1-6, Mark 16:16, Romans 6:3-5, 1 Corinthians 12:13, Galatians 3:27, Ephesians 4:5-6. 1 Peter 3:21. One can't escape baptism of the water and spirit. There's no sinner's prayer in the Bible. We have to come the way God set it up on Pentecost. The Bible way is the only way. man can't change it.

  • @rossdaboss1959 Spoken like a true UPC member. i don't want to debate however i've come to believe that even within some of the passages you posted, the evidence that there were many disciples of Jesus who later received the fire of the Holy Ghost. I do not see evidence of it being necessary to salvation. Also tongues is not the end all evidence of having the B.inHG. I speak in tongues and have been baptized in the Holy Ghost and have many brothers who have not; we're all going to heaven.

  • @rossdaboss1959 Not trying to argue, but baptism was not a requirement of salvation. Jesus did not make exceptions for anyone and yet the thief on the cross obviously wasn't baptized however he did accept Christ and obviously still went to Heaven as Christ said today you will be with me in paradise.

    VIVA LA CAUSE

  • @iambradasa i must be mistaken about u being upc as the upc's are all about proper baptism; as for the thief, the kingdom of God must obviously make exceptions!

    be seeing you

  • @sevenarmy1 Therefore, the Lord Jesus Christ, in order that He may abide in you and make you abide in Him, makes and keeps your conscience tender in His fear. And this keeps you from those sins which separate between you and Him.
