This video shows me deshanking my Capulet - Juliet pointe shoes so that they are ready to be worn as demi pointe shoes aka "soft blocks".

Demi pointe shoes are good for wearing because they strength your ankles and feet for pointe work.

Deshanking pointe shoes can be tough depending on the shoe. Just ensure you remove the nails/tacks from the shoes carefully using pliers.

Always remember to keep the innersole if your shoes has them, as this can be popped into the shoes later to wear with the shoes so after the deshanking they do not feel rough or uncomfortable.

Excuse my goofing out at the end.

For those interested, these shoes were nice pointe shoes, tapered and a medium length vamp. The box unfortunately got too soft so they were no longer suitable for pointe work.

I wore size 4 and a half, Width: N.

P.S. I did buy Grishko 2007 demi pointe shoes but they were very unsuitable for my feet and not to mention the left one was abit too small and painful compared to the right! So deshanking my own pointes was the best option :)
