Dog shelter training - Predicting & Handling Aggression - Sue Sternberg

Shelters, rescue, vet techs and other handlers spend the day with Sue as she walks you thru videos of surrendered dogs assessing their behavior and socialization skills and predicting what issues should be addressed. She then brings in many shelter dogs from the Idaho Humane Society and does live evaluations watching for signs of poor socialization skills especially to people both male and female; defining what issues the dogs are displaying that may need attention. She discusses with the audience suggestions regarding appropriate placement. Sue also sets aside time to demonstrate good handling skills, especially when dealing with a dog that may be reactive. Handlers can learn how to best keep themselves safe.
