  • I strongly recommend you to use a real tube amp and analog pedals. A simple small tube amp with a decent drive pedal and a delay will blow both of these units out of the water in any situation.

I currently own an hd 500 and I personally find it to be very annoying tone vise. Especially amps and drives.

  • @centrothl so your basically saying that the hd500 is only good for the modulation and delays then?

  • Need some help. I've looked into both of them a little but what I'm really wanting is good acoustic sims on top of some quality distortion sounds. Which is better for acoustic sounds?

  • @BadgerNut the hd 500 doesnt have an acoustic simulator so if u want one go for the gt 10

  • I own both and I dont care what anyone says. Both are great. The problem with the negative comments are these goofs don't even know how to tweak a multi-effects processor. Take time to read the manual and experiment on tweaking the sound. You can practically get any sound you want by knowing how to manually adjust the tones (delays, modulation, wet/dry, compression, etc). To all the negative commenters: LEARN HOW TO ADJUST THE PARAMETERS OF THE PROCESSOR. IT'S NOT A TOY. IT'S FOR PROFESSIONALS.

  • I would prefer GT-10 much better

  • drop by at my channel and check out a tone test iv done of the POD X3 Live. Thanks.

  • I do not like the POD. It seems very choppy to me. I really like the GT-10. Take time to learn the pedal and set it up to match your guitar and amp. You will get great tone. The amp models are really good if you set them up the way you like them. I could setup a Marshall for my rig and put it in your rig and it would probably sound like crap before you adjusted the tone,

  • @Bwahahahahahakangina You're so right. I just bought a GT10 and am reading the manual. I run a DOD Digitech GSP 2101 which is the grand daddy of these processors and the new ones are so much more user friendly. But you have to read and work with them to find what they're capable of. Unfortunately YouTube allows any mook to make any comment, hence the garbage one encounters. Oh well....

  • @markdanielshome Check these out... Through bogner alchemist tube amp: "Line 6 POD HD500 Demo - Winter NAMM 2011 '11 HD-500"

Direct: "Line 6 POD HD500 Demonstration" Two leagues apart :)

  • Boss gt10 suck cheese nuts I use to own one, the amps dont sound nothing like the real thing the distortion sound doll and boring. Line 6 is a poor man axe fx

  • The HD500 has the shimmer effect, I would go for that

  • @bassman5123 I think the reliability will be great.. it was one of the main factors in buying mine.. i played an XT live since 2006 never ever let me down best money i have ever spent on gear... only changed cuz i fancied a change of sounds which by the way are incredible..im sure i can hear the grill rattling on some models..LOL

  • @lalala5279 Who does......???

  • @lalala5279 The HD can do it all, without the fizzzz of the BOSS line6 have this market nailed my friend...
