why does mine have 3 modes . mine has a camera on it but i dont know why its not 16.9 wide screen

I really hope you can help me i have a panasonic hdc sd9 and im having such a nightmare uploading to youtube the camera only software that comes with the camera is  a hd 2,5e writer ..The camera records in avchd which youtube dosont accept that format so i then needed to convert to a mt2s format so i then purchased cyberlink power director to convert and i still cant figure it out its really driving me nuts ...Now imm seriously thinking of selling the camera and getting another help

@englishtwist I sold the panasonic and kept the samsung shoot n sharei love the samsung its so easy to use and youtube friendly but im still not sure if i have it on the right setting for youtube vids what settings are best can you help :)
