  • never seen this before.... it's just..... stunning for it's time.

  • This used to be on YouTube, was one of my favorite all-time clips (and one I never thought existed in a million years till I found it here--ULTRA RARE, this!), then was taken off, now I've found it again and all is well in the world once more. This brings tears to my eyes every time. It's like natural codeine to me, or something...hard to describe the feelings this magical mystical piece engenders in me: the meditative calm and feeling of being transported out of my body-anyone feel the same?

  • Right on Pete Seeger for having an open mind! god bless all of you.

  • Shawn does the songs justice though his technique at this time seemed a bit slim. No pop artists ever went beyong a basic proficiency and that includes our beloved Hari Georgeson, Brian Jones and Dave Mason. But Mike Heron of The Incredible String Band played pretty well. See "The Iron Stone " on youtube. Peace

  • @herbalist420ganja The Sitar is distincly a North Indian instrument. Decended from the Persian Seh-Tar (meaning '3 strings) which is still played today. Yo Yo Mah featured a sehtar player on his 'Silk Road" release. Sometime in the 18th cent. methinks the Sitar as we know it came into being with its 19 or 20 strings, sympathetics. True they are all over India and practically the symbol of All Indian Music. The Vina Family are the strings of South India Carnatic Music.

  • @ajrahi for real???i thought pakistan and india were united until 70 years ago,i may be mistaken though

  • I love it.

  • I had forgotten Shawn played sitar too!!

  • Sitar is a Pakistani instrument; it's not Indian. Best sitarists were from Pakistan such as Rais Khan, Sharif Khan, Nafis Khan, Vilayat Khan, and many many more. Indians have just gotten the credit by their propaganda.

  • Its incredible how they synchronize the voice and sitar here, real treasure music, the real masters.
