In January 1993, the steps of the Gorgas Library on the Quad at The University of Alabama was the setting for a celebration of the 1992 National Championship season. Following a parade from downtown Tuscaloosa to the campus led by Grand Marshal Corky Simpson of the Tucson, Arizona newspaper, this video clip is the speech given by Corky Simpson, the only AP voter to rank Alabama #1 from the preseason all the way through to the National Championship. Following the speech, then Mayor Al Dupont conferred upon Simpson an honorary citizenship of the city of Tuscaloosa as well a key to the city.
