Ever since I started reading Stephen King's 'The Dark Tower' series I've been thinking about how it could be made into a film. I always made a connection between King's story and Sergio Leone's Westerns. And so I came to this little experiment. It is basically represents a fictional film made of 'The Gunslinger' with none other than Leone in the director's chair.
I used footage from 'Once Upon A Time In The West' because I always imagined Roland looking like Charles Bronson. In this trailer he is the Gunslinger, Henry Fonda is the Man In Black, the little boy is Jake and Claudia Cardinale is Allie.
The music is Ennio Morricone's 'Ecstasy of Gold' from the film 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly'.
'Once Upon A Time In The West' belongs to Paramount Pictures. 'The Dark Tower' belongs to Stephen King.

The Dark Tower is the greatest fictional series i have ever read, let alone seen, it DESERVES a movie, but i reckon it will take too much time to make the story unrushed and set at an even pace, especially how how the history of roland and his world is unveiled later on in the books

For some reason I've always thought Nathan Fillion would make a great Roland (if you doubt me watch firefly).

Nicely done. Bronson does indeed look like how I imagined Rolland. I don't see any way the epic series could ever translate properly onto film and I feel like it shouldn't even be attempted.

@kaptaintrips You are probably right. 'The Dark Tower' would be a hard nut to crack even for the most talented and experienced filmmaker.

@SteVin89 They said that about the lord of the rings but with modern effects it could be translated beautifully.

@dizrob I have no doubt the special-effects would be great but what I was saying concerned the story telling. It would be very hard to film the narrative as it exists in the books.
