This is video is for popovickonstantin7. This is a simple tutorial to show how to import a reference image into you Maya Scene. I use Maya 2010 for this video, but the same principle applies to earlier versions.

  • help plzz, i can't highlight my picture when i import it, it manually lets me edit the attributes, but if i click somewherer else it deselects it, then i can't select it again, pllzz help

  • @AussieRaver1996

    The easiest way to troubleshoot this problem is to go into your perspective viewport, and do a marquee selection across the image.

  • Cool tutorial man. One question though. How do you delete the reference images when you're done modeling? I know it sounds simple but it just won't let me do it.

  • @shikamaru5608

    I actually never deleted it....all i did was hide the camera's in the "perspective" viewport.

    Above the viewport go to....

    show--------->camera

    and uncheck it

  • What about movies? Each time I try to use a video instead of a still picture it shows in the front view normal, but each time i go into the perspective view ti always changes to a red color image plane. I can still see the video but I need it to be like the front view.

  • Thanks! Really helped
