See hidden criminals with FLIR's Scout Camera. This video shows how law enforcement can utilize FLIR infrared technology to apprehend criminals. It is one of FLIR's best-selling, ultra-portable infrared cameras/thermal imagers for the law enforcement market. Ergonomic, rugged, lightweight and easy-to-use, the Scout can see through complete darkness, through smoke, fog and foliage. Police don't just find the bad guys, they stay one step ahead and keep their distance with the Scout infrared camera.

The Scout is ideal for all types of commercial security, state and local police, SWAT, search and rescue and other specialty law enforcement applications.

  • Shame they ruled it was against constitutional rights to use such technology isn't it? Ah well, back to the drawing board

  • First off the danger of a cops job is over dramatized by the media! According to the U.S. Bureau of labor statistics, being a cop is not even in the top ten most dangerous jobs! It is more dangerous being a farmer,Logger, fisherman, truck driver, construction worker, etc than being a cop or a fire fighter! The key word in your comment was "Chase"... 99.999% of the time the criminal is trying to run from the police not fight them!

  • if u were a cop, what is your life worth?

how much do you think it costs to train a police officer? if this thing saves one officer's life it will pay for itself many times over...

do you think ammo is cheap? by your logic, officers shouldnt train anymore b/c at 50 cents per round for a 45 cal pistol, its too expensive to constantly train...most cops NEVER use their weapon in the field.

become a cop and chase someone down a dark alley at night one day and then let see what you say.

  • I was not kidding... if you do a search and can find the prices on thermal imaging cameras made by FLIR etc, they cost upwards of $10-15,000 dollars even used thermal cameras on ebay are $4-8000.

  • gosh dats too much man....

i'm moving to somewhere in europe!
