This is very funny. Hang in there because it's a bit repetitive in the beginning. First, Michael plays one of the exercises from Speed Kills fast, then he plays it super slow. In this video you see that playing fast isn't that difficult for Michael. Playing slow can be challenging. In the second part of the video I mention to Michael that he didn't have one bend in the entire Speed Kills program. His response is pretty funny. Also, notice how he is shredding while he is listening to me. He's able to pay attention to our conversation while playing some very challenging guitar without even thinking about it. It shows that this stuff must be played with our subconscious mind. It doesn't matter if you're playing chords or shredding on riffs like this you must make playing guitar "second nature" - Doug Marks

  • which is better speed kills 1991 or 2010

does he teach no boudaries in any?

  • @guillotinedeath They're both great but 2010 is the revised version. I would recommend going with that. No Boundaries is taught note-for-note in Speed Lives.

  • @dmarks1

what else is on speed lives?

  • @guillotinedeath The only thing taught on Speed Lives is the song No Boundaries. Trust me, that's enough.

  • Doug Marks? Damn I grew up with this guy through all his lessons first on cassette circa 80's,then had some on video.Glad to see hes still around doin what he does best!

  • @phatbirdy3689 uh buy the dvd......... thats what it does. no need to wish just practice

  • ahah i like when he says "slow"

  • i love how he can just play the hardest shit and talk SOO casually.

    MAB is god!

  • @Fluffypopcicle Cheating? This isn't a game. That's almost like saying it's cheating to amplify the guitar. Michael uses the string dampener to keep his technique sounding clean (no unwanted open strings ringing) when doing some complicated techniques. When you're using both hands on the fretboard to play a technique sometimes it's impossible to keep open strings from feeding back. That's what the dampener is for. It's like having a third hand.
