@Fluffypopcicle Cheating? This isn't a game. That's almost like saying it's cheating to amplify the guitar. Michael uses the string dampener to keep his technique sounding clean (no unwanted open strings ringing) when doing some complicated techniques. When you're using both hands on the fretboard to play a technique sometimes it's impossible to keep open strings from feeding back. That's what the dampener is for. It's like having a third hand.

@guillotinedeath They're both great but 2010 is the revised version. I would recommend going with that. No Boundaries is taught note-for-note in Speed Lives.
