Tyler Matzek of Capistrano Valley HS pitching his pronated Torque fastball (cutter)against South Coast league foe from San Clemente HS.

This is a -2 pitch that he sits at 92 to 94 mph.

This pitch when thrown supinated( Thumb up) traditionally destroys you're elbow and the front side of you're shoulder and Labrum. The same pitch thrown pronated (Thumb down) lets you're Elbow and shoulder work the way they are actually built.

  • Just a cutter. A good one, but certainly nothing that resembles Marshall mechanics. Not a "torque fastball" by any means.

  • Oh yes, this is a fully pronated "torque fastball" that will prevent many elbow problems. Do not confuse this Marshall tenet with all the rest.

  • This is a better example of Tyler improving on the Marshall- ish method. His elbow leads and his seperation has the palm facing up, this is normally a big no-no with the traditional method. I am glad to see him mixing the methods, and I understand to great results. Keep up the hard work Tyler, it is truly showing...
