A Merry Day at Anthrocon 2008

I had a few reservations about posting this here, but I decided to test the Theory of YouTube Invulnerability. I'll only ask once and simply: Please don't flame me, and take a good look in the mirror before you do.

So, what is Anthrocon? Only the biggest furry convention in the world probably. What are furries you ask? If you don't know, you haven't been on the Internet very long, have you.

A good friend and fellow filmmaker told me recently, "When you go up against furries, you're going up against the Internet," and in a way, he's right. I don't see how furries could exist as they do without the Internet. It's the intangible delusion of a collection of unsatisfied humanity, whose perverse dreams of animalistic beauty would have withered in the dark corners of the status quo without the carcinogenic positive reinforcement of the Internet.

That said, I guess I should point out that I don't really have any true malice toward furries. I wish I could say that I was bombarded with deplorable and deviant behavior at every turn, but for the most part everyone we encountered was extremely nice.

However, in the swag bag I got with my badge was a rather telling survey which had questions that lead me to believe that a lot of furries suffer from body dysmorphia, social anxiety, and personal identity issues. I truly pity those that do. I have a feeling they are the majority...

Also you don't do RESEARCH! the first furries appeared in the 1960's BEFORE internet access was available to the public!

Get your facts at a library NOT the internet, the internet is a WORTHLESS place to get research.
