Apollo Smile, the live action anime girl hosted SciFi's Anime Week back in 1998. I had taped the movies back then (Galaxy Express 999, and Urusei Yatsura 2: Beautiful Dreamer) and just recently found this old tape. I clipped together Apollo's hosting segments from a couple of the movies. Apollo Smile later went on to do a voice in Space Channel 5, but then pretty much disappeared off the face of the world..

  • She was a sweet heart, don't remember her though, just the awesome anime

  • Up! Down! Up! Down! Chu! Chu! Hey!

  • Anime is groovy.

  • Wow....wow! This is what got me into anime so many years ago. I was only 8 when I seen this, and I fell in love with anime from that point on. Yet I never paid attention to the names of the animes, and it took me 7 years to find Urusei Yatsura: Beautiful Dreamer and Galaxy Express 999.

  • God, what happened to you sci fi channel? You used to be cool. Why are you misspelling your name now? Why is half of your programming not even sci fi? Why do I keep coming back to rewatch this vid? Am I all out of pepsi yet? WE ALL GONNA DIE!!!

  • Space Michael is in danger!

  • @littlesuzdevil67

If you kids misbehave, does she bust out the kung fu? Ha ha ha. Just kidding.

  • @captainsmithee I've been trying to find Love Kisses and Grenades too but have had my luck - I've got Wrecking ball though if that's any help :)

  • @dkupke Something tells me she would be more than happy to do so, but unfortunately that's not really her decision to make (it's SEGA's).

That, and a Part 3 would need to somehow replace Space Michael, which would be quite awkward and slightly depressing. :(
