Ok well it looks exactly like my old XR650L. My point is pretty clear. They are junk! They weigh a ton and have about half the power of my FE400. Honda is notorious for making out-dated bikes. They should stop making the 650L. They need to get with the program and make the 450F street legal, or atleast the XR650R legal in the states.

They keep going though! Your FE must make over 80bhp then! Impressive haha... Yea there 450 is much better and the 650 is one of the most powerfull singles as standard. The Hondas may be heavy, but they cost a fraction of the price of a husky, husa or ktm to run & unless your a serious competitor, does it matter??

Actually the Honda may have been a better bike! Would go everywhere the Husaberg went, started easier & cost nothing to run. The weights the honda's only downfall. Would love to come do some real adventure touring, its so limited in england. Maybe when funds permit. Cheers

its all about getting full of mud an having fun ur xr rocks matey try a lil 250 if you get a chance there quality my mates always take piss when i pull her out they got new bikes like me so dont understand why i do untill i start climbing everything in my path throwing it down bogs an steep arse hills an crashing her into rocks ect she just keeps on ticking an taking a seriouse licking she mite not catch or beat the bergs but she is always upfor the chase lol

had 3 husas 5 ktm 2 ccms huskys ect you get my drift loads of different bikes an love em all i have a lil ktm 250 im running at the minuite but truth be told if i come up against a hill or seriouse peice of terain i have doubts about doing dam im reaching for my trusty old xr250 before i throw a leg over my ktm i have 1 simple rule if my xr wont go over onder or through it nothing will i agree with the other lad xr600 a lil weighty but them xrs will get any were a berg will go

my xr 650 is heavy but i love it! isnt the yz 490 i had but it runs everyday

Love both bikes, I own an 98' xr600, with a few simple mods, it is rock solid. I will admit the suspension was crap when I got it, but after modding some usd forks from a yz426 and a heavier rear spring, it handles great. Its still heavier than most dirt bikes, but I can keep pace with most of them. Good luck out there man.

the xr600 is a heavy tank of a bike. very simple. very reliable, and very easy to work on. real ugly bike...but what do you expect for a late 80s early 90s bike. but you gotta love the torque. but really though honda needs to update there bikes. they've been making xr650ls for over 16 years. and a xr650l is a nx650 (engine) and xr600 mixed together.
