Vintage Marx Linemar Drum Major Pluto Wind-up Toy

http://www.opamerica.com Presenting a Marx Line-Mar Drum Major Pluto tin wind-up toy. Note both ears and tail around still attached. The ears and tail are a leather like material. Paint is in very good shape with only a few very minor signs or wear and specks. Pluto easily wound up and works. The toy displays very well and would make a super addition to your collection




The following is written by Maxine Pinsky about this type of toy in the book Marx Toys - Robots, Space, Comic, Disney, & TV Characters:

"In this Linemar toy, Pluto rocks back and forth as the shakes a bell in his left front paw, moves a baton in his right and blows a horn. The is tin except for Pluto's rubber tail.

Pluto's small green top hat has a red band and matches the green, red-tipped horn he blows. This Linemar Pluto is similar to the Marx Party Pluto but at 7" high, it is 3" shorter than the Marx toy, and it is made of tin instead of plastic. The Pluto Drum Major also has a baton in one paw instead of bells in both front paws. "
