Chapter 9 of the Video "Healing For A Broken World"
deals with the topic of the environment and what the Bible says about how we should interact with it.

Many Christian desire to act as responsible citizens, but are uncertain how to do so in a truly Christian manner. This video series, consisting of 12 ten-minute segments, will help. It uses concrete, real-world examples to explore basic biblical principles for guiding our responses to often difficult public policy issues such as poverty, terrorism, and AIDS in Africa. It is based on Steve Monsma's book, Healing For A Broken World: Christian Perspectives on Public Policy and can be used either alone, or in conjunction with the book. Though primarily intended for class and church group discussion, the video series is also valuable for individual reflection and growth. This video features Richard Mouw, President of Fuller Theological Seminary. Many other Christian Scholars and public policy experts are also featured, such as Richard Cizik, John Dilulio, Robert Seiple, and Jennifer Butler. Everyday Christians also share their stories and perspectives. A study guide is included. It includes for each of the 12 video segments a brief explanation of its central theme, an outline of it, and questions to stimulate discussion and reflection

  • Do you really think that when 150,000 people per day step out into eternity and face a holy and just God it will matter that they drove a hybrid? 4,000 babies per day die horrific deaths due to abortion...and we are suppossed to worry about trees??? We are the only 'called out ones' we should be warning people of their sin and God's justice and telling them how God granted us forgivness through repentance & faith in Christ! I think you should be asking what DID Jesus do and do that.

  • Chapter 7 of "Healing For A Broken World" is called "Life Issues." That chapter explains how applying God's word to the issue of abortion would lead to the conclusion that it is wrong and unjust. But both issues are important. You may have noticed in chapter 9 that environmental pollution often has its most horrible effects on the unborn. (Think about mercury poisoning.)

  • "Eze 3:20 Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand."

Mar 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Are we not distracting Christians here from their most important work?
