Fast forward to about 1:40 for Inertiatic. Son et Lumiere had to be added on. Who starts listening to this album on track 2? Please forgive the nothingness during the intro which consists of drinking water, waxing sticks, stretching and air practicing some fills. But I HAD to put in Son Et

Notes:
A myriad of sloppiness. I made tons of mistakes before this take and plenty in this one. Also had a hard time lining the audio up just right. Lining up Son et was especially difficult for some reason. Damn my not being editing savvy. Taking the time to edit just right does just that,.... takes too much time. So please forgive my computer-inability to line these things up.

Everyone knows Jon Theodore is amazing. His parts are genius, intricate and really hard to replicate. I do love and appreciate TP but I think Jon will always have the much bigger part of my heart. He's like John Bonham with tons of caffeine in him.

Did my best with a minimal time window, not enough warming up and far too many fails before this take.

P.S. Bloody finger bonus.

Thanks for watching and God bless you if you've read this far. You've got a lot of patience! I ramble.

My thanks to The Mars Volta, UMG, Universal, GSL and whoever else allows me to keep this video up. Obviously the Volta owns all rights and reserves.

  • It was pretty good but your grip totally killed ya man, you were gripping the stix too tight and you didn't get the fulcrum right, plus you probably have to use more effort per note. Still amazing for that bad grip.

  • @Sam034 - Thanks for the kind words. But just so you know, I held the sticks the way I did on purpose. I was (and still am) combating a health condition that gives me pretty bad hand cramps routinely. I had experimented and decided that the best way for me to play this song to get the whip action I wanted, was to hold it far back. It may look like I had a tight grip on them, but that is not the case. I simply held the sticks far back on their ends. All the best to you and thanks again.

  • that was insane dude nice work!!!! gave me goosebumps

  • @mattbanville - haha. thank you so much! =)

  • Jon Theodore should be honored, great job dude....or perhaps was it Pridgen... either way, great stuff. Excellent song choice, btw.

  • @loudbrownstump - thanks so much for all the kind words man. Btw, it was def Theodore. Not a big TP fan myself. =)

  • I have watched this several times and I just don't see the part where the guy's acting like a douche. He yawns and fiddles with his sticks. Seriously, what the fuck am I missing?

  • @jazzplayer102 - Did you stop to think that posting this makes you look just like what you accuse me of? Maybe read my description and some previous comments and you'll see I'm not as full of myself as you think. I wish you the best despite your negativity.

  • Killer!

  • Haah, what a dumm fuckk.

  • @octoberdays Incredible cover, I don't know if anyone has suggested this, but eating bananas can help because of the potassium. And if you want a tablet, potassium and magnesium both help with cramps I believe.

  • she's better /watch?v=LxS5leJYcy4&feature=fvwrel

  • nice cover!

if i may say, i think you should try to put your snare and floor toms a little higher, it looks like your set is pretty low. anyways, nice work!
