Beautiful tribute, with a big omission. Baritone, Robert Mc Ferrin's picture should have been included at the start. He got the ball rolling at the Metropolitan!

What was the name of the background music?

I was born in Grennsboro N.C. When I joined the La Scala Orchestra in 1980 Margaret Tynes welcomed me to Milan with open arms. She had a beautiful international career and should definitely be INCLUDED HERE. Her operatic and concert performances were appaluded in Europe´s major opera houses and auditoriums. I had the priviledge of singing for her during my time at A&T. (1978) I think she is fantastic!

What about MARGARET TYNES? IS SHE NOT THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME? Her nephew,KEVAN TYNES sure is!!!

Beautiful. I think this should have included Margaret Tynes.

Nice post...but where was that last note??? I have a recording of Mattiwilda Dobbs doing French songs, but none of her doing opera. Does anyone out there have such a recording? I was at Eastman when she interviewed there. I'm not sure why she didn't join the faculty. Faye Robinson had quite a reputation in Europe when I was living there. I'm ashamed that I didn't know all of the people who were pictured; but I'm now excited to learn more about them. Thanx again.
