Harlem, New York - February 15, 2008. On the occasion of the sixth Iraq Moratorium, members of the Granny Peace Brigade, Movement for a Democratic Society and SDS joined in a World Can't Wait counter-recruitment action in Harlem. The starting point was the recruiting center at 103rd and Lexington, in East Harlem, which had closed for the day, perhaps in response to WCW press releases announcing the protest. Protesters rallied at 103rd St and then marched north on Lex and west on 125th St to Malcolm X Boulevard where they protested at a second recruiting center. NYPD officers arrived and a short time later the recruiters threw in the towel - shutting down the recruiting center. This video clip has segments from each leg of the action.
