@mlrr33 You're right! I never thought about it that way......But he never made a bad song!

Johnny Cash never made a bad song. He was absolutely pure genius. His music is so powerful that he influenced the likes of U2, the Beatles, the Stones, Hendrix, and EVERY country singer. One of my great regrets in life is that I never went to see him in concert while he was alive. And the love he and June Carter shared was on a completely different plane from "regular" love. I do believe that he died of a broken heart. Thankfully, his music will live forever.

I missed the generation of good music.

The more philosophical the soul the more haunting the death it seems. I can feel the time that he wrote this, it connects you somehow. One of the first songs that he was ever known by, the spirit of a budding career expressed here. Snuffed out like it was deer bowled down on the interstate by a semi. Nature treated him like he didnt matter in that same sort of way.

Oh, the memories this brings back . I was fortunate enough to see him sing this in person so many years ago.
