SYNOPISIS

Vicky was called upon last minute to help out this rich family and babysit on their little girl. When arriving at the house, a seductive, but yet friendly woman is getting ready for her late night party. Being tired from her long day at school Vicky doesnt really pay attention to the womans strange behaviour. Left alone at the house, she finds the little girl named Mandy watching a late night horror film. She seems somewhat disconnected and doesnt seem to be bothered living alone in a big house without anything to play with. Later that night Vicky is spooked when Mandy screams her name and tells her she saw someone outside. Vicky soon realizes that a hellish nightmare is about to begin, but for that she has to Wait Until Dark.

In late December 2008 I started writing on The Babysitting. The essence of the idea was : A child is playing a dangerous and sadistic game with her babysitter.

When I completed the screenplay in January 2009, it was time for me to find the right cast members for the picture. I had just worked with Nadine Stephan on a fabulous music video, which can be found on my profile, so I cast her in the role of Vicky. The casting of 2 children was more difficult than expected, but I managed to find the talented twins, Rhandy and Jenell Schutz. The role of the mother was given to Angela Zandbergen as I had worked with her on a corporate film previously.

The film was shot in 7 hours on February 26, 2009 in a luxurious residence in the small Dutch town of Limmen. Due to competition rules the film had to be spoken English, whilst all the actors are native Dutch.

I believe that this story can be adapted into a full feature film with more character development and more depth to the story. Hopefully the opportunity to do this further in my career will arise.

Cool short film... though I noticed you gave music credit to DEAD OR ALIVE for "Something In My House" but not to AKIRA YAMAOKA for "Innocent Moon" & "Melancholy Requiem" songs that are in SILENT HILL... Over all good film, keep up the good work!

anybody remember a tv episode of a show about a young babysitter who arrives at a house to babysit a boy and the boy spends his time locked in his room and calls the baysitter and mistreats her and taunts her,(reminded me of movie scream)then she makes him a tuna sandwich and he strikes her and yells 'i dont like tuna fish!" then at the end when the parents arrive the babysitter is missing! anybody remeber this tv episode around the late 90s!
