This is an RC electric model aircraft of Orville and Wilbur Wright's Kitty Hawk flyer. Jim S. built this Wright Flyer from a kit and added his own power system and other modifications. Center of gravity (CoG) is ever so important when setting it up for flight and so is the technique used to fly it.

  • The plane was made using wings from a kit that is no longer in production.

Jim is very inventive and a great builder.

  • Well, that flies realistically. I'm just kidding...a realistic one would fly 50 feet and die at best.

  • @thetheflyinghawaiian Yeah, it's new and improved.

  • Very nice, how did you loop this WF, impressive. Perhaps a next project for me haha.

  • @nelle3838 Jim looped it very carefully!

  • Nice Flyer!

Whose kit is that? Is it available?

    Thanks,

    Dave

  • @DrinkThunderbird Yes, plus Orville and Wilbur would have been impressed that it was flying with electric motors and a small LiPo battery. Some day maybe there will be a full scale electric plane or is there one already?

  • @lewandlo Thanks!

  • Gr8 stuff guys...Wow. very cool. I bet if you put a little GI Joe around the battery it would look real crazy ...Thanks for posting
