@Lorric10 i do rate Lampard highly but i didnt expect that kind of stats regarding his assists with england.that just show why england struggle so much for creativity for the last decade,england central midfielders basically produce little.and england relied so much on their wingers,the only reliable is Beckham or an on form Joe cole.so much pressure for this two..i dont think Gerrard is really different,for me he's a quicker version of Lampard..do you know their assists in euro or world cup?

As for Scholes, he has 3 goals and 7 assists. No MOTMs. Of course, Scholes' England career goes further back. I know he scored another 7 competitive goals, both goals in the playoff with Scotland, scored against Tunisia at the '98 World Cup, he banged in a hat trick in a qualifier vs Poland, and got one against Moldova in a qualifier.

@yaslaboss Lampard does have 15 goals though.

From the same matches as Lampard, Gerrard has 11 assists and 14 goals. It's also worth noting I give out man of the match awards. Lampard doesn't even have 1. Gerrard has 7. Beckham has 10 (same matches). Lampard doesn't really do what you'd expect of a midfield player. But he does hit the back of the net. Although some of his goals are penalties. I guess the evidence is that if you have to pick one, Gerrard is significantly superior to Lampard...

@yaslaboss What do you want to do with Lampard's assists anyway, or are you just trying to find out how many he has? ANd you're right, it emphasises how many Beckham has. Since I only have competitive games for Lampard, vs Beckham, that's 6 in competitive games for Lampard vs. 25 for Beckham.

vs Croatia at Euro 2004, first goal

vs Northern Ireland home qualifier 2nd goal

vs Azerbaijan home qualifier 2nd goal, both games March 2005

vs Macedonia away qualifier 2006 only goal

vs Kazakhstan home qualifier first and second goals.

@yaslaboss You're welcome. I know Lampard has 6 assists in competitive games only since the start of Euro 2002 qualifying. I don't know how many he has in friendlies, or if he played any competitive games before late 2000 when Euro 2002 qualifying started, but I don't think he will have. The "Svengland" years are a future project I want to do, which is why I know this, as I've already tracked the goals and assists in competitive games in that time and beyond.
