Thankfully, the only way to become poisoned by higher fungi is to ingest them. Touching Omphalotus olearius won't hurt you, and in fact you can bring them inside a dark room to better witness their bioluminescence!

Not poisinous, toxic to a degree, dosage raises that degree. check out the info on google, they contain an anti-cancer toxin. it's interesting.

mostly slugs,snails and caterpillars eat mushrooms.i am sure the morning slugs had a feast

I would put on some gloves then dig them out with a barden tool or shovel, they grow off of old tree roots ans I read so you wan tto dispose of the root itself if you can...
