  • these are usually provided to officers like company cars, the higher the rank the higher spec the car. however officers starting from station manager level upwards can use their own cars and these have blue lights fitted with sirens. looking at this car it could be a group manager, having said that the same rules apply he can have his own car and it would have blues and sirens fitted, I know of an officer in Berkshire who has a porsche for work fitted blues and another with an audi R6.

  • @TheAliz3364 yeah true mate

  • Interesting siren, anyone know what kind it is?

  • Could someone tell me is that the fire officers personal vehical eg he uses it when off duty or did LFB buy it ?

  • @Thirdwatchandgta tbh im not sure, any fire officer car can be used while off duty, not sure about if the LFB chips in??

  • @urbex2007 I think your getting confused, my comments regarding high spec cars used by officers, these cars are owned by the officers, they are not company cars they are brought and paid for by them but used for brigade purposes, meaning they are kitted out with blues and twos for incidents. officers at station manager level do not ride on fire appliances. the crew on a fire appliance are managed by a watch manager or crew manager level. station officers are sent on large scale incidents.

  • @TheAliz3364 It is an abuse of taxpayers money and one which is currently being looked in to. The company vehicle of a fire person is a fire engine, not a car that the public pay for - which includes fuel, servicing, insurance, and when the blue lights are being mis-used. It will stop very soon as fire service wages are having to be cut for their own managers to have cars like this. A total abuse and waste of money, he can travel to incidents in a fire engine as he can't put fires out!!!!
