Here's the first firing of the micro trebuchet. Unfortunately, the nut that I'm using is too heavy for the scale engine, so the shot barely cleared the frame. I'll have to find something that is closer to the right weight.
I'm using lead shot covered encased on wood glue... short of using a cast lead counter-weight, or maybe depleted uranium, I don't believe I can fit more weight into the bucket. The nut I used as a projectile was the smallest one I had, but it was too heavy given its relative scale to the engine. I'll have to re-take the video using the right weight projectile. I'll get 4 feet, easy :)
nice little trebuchet, what's the size
of the square doweling you used?

The main pieces of the frame are made from 3/16 inch square stock, with the throwing arm and counter-balance bucket being made out of 1/8 x 1/4

you need a heavier counterbalance
