  • @planetmuman Yes you are correct the Rabbi did not speak of any drugs, i am saying that you do need Torah to em-place good thoughts to motivate you to do good that is not what the Torah was given for, drugs can do that, for example a large amount of Americans are on Prozac NOT TORAH thus fusing them with happy thoughts and motivations to do and be good . Torah was given to make us a chariot of true oneness of gd that is his name by following his edict here on earth or one chooses"the Other side"

  • thoughts are not chemical reactions , they are spiritual . The Neshama need Torah as food for it to be strong enough to raise her voice within us , if no Torah the parasitic yetzer hara will feed from the misplaced nourishment when we choose to obey it.

  • @Hotrap86 Actually the Rabbi is correct. The Yetzer Hara and the Yetzer Tov are both within us. What we do with our inclinations is what we are judged by. I think you did not listen to the entire discussion because it has nothing to do with drugs. What the Rabbi is saying is that through studying Torah a Talmid can fill his mind with good thoughts so that they are able to drive out the bad thoughts. This is a basic concept, and one you seem to discount...

  • The evil and good inclination are a bit more than just thoughts one places withing his or her mind, because technically speaking one may inhibit within himself holucenagens or other types of drugs and have "good and happy" thoughts or take extacy and feel he wants to and has the energy to help everyone in the world... they are a bit more then just thoughts, its who does one wish to serve his creator who is the one gd or the serpent.....
