Clay Aiken (then Clayton Grissom) sings "Elvira" with the group Just By Chance in 1998. The performance is from Johnston Community College's Country Music Showcase. The end of the tape includes all the evening's performers singing "Will the Circle Be Unbroken". (Video by Karma4Clay and used with permission...because that's my alter ego! *g*)

  • How cute! So glad it's still out here so I got to see it, thanks for making it and sharing it. Clay fans of the Clay Nation are the best and smartest!!!

  • oh god. lol.

  • Awe... i love his harmonies.

  • Thanks so much for sharing this!!!

It's always interesting to see such old vids.

He is so ADORABLE and TALENTED!

I love how he enjoys the performance.

    Love the moves :)

  • Omg how cute is that !!! <33

    Clay is so adorable !

  • I don't understand what makes you feel that way. He's not perfect, but as far as famous people go, he's miles beyond most.

(And I throw in the "as far as" part because I don't know him personally and can't judge him that way!)

  • Very, very fun!

  • Clay had to grow up so quickly when he was thrust into the public eye w/ppl's opinions & rude comments about him if he was to remain in the biz at the top of his game, making beautiful music & making a difference in the lives of so many. Too bad it's perceived as "arrogant & selfish".Rickey Smith on ETHS called him "smart & clever". I'll go with that.If anything,I think he got better,if that's possible.

In addition,I'm glad he had the chance to do B'way! What an experience that must've been!

  • Thanks for this...he is just darling! He has so many of the same expressions...I love it so much!!

  • Thanks to all who got this video up on YouTube! I thoroughly enjoyed seeing and hearing Clay as a teenager -- he was an amazing singer even at that young age, and they were all having so much fun in this performance. He is just adorable!
