To see just how the government is failing with social security and medicare
http://tinyurl.com/qhy5v8

Haven't we had enough Government interference so far??And with terrible results - both medicare and social security are broke and now they want more control??
Their stimulus plan is a failure and now so is the "Cash for Clunkers" program after 4 days.. and they want to run healthcare??
and please ask yourself if Obamacare is such a grand idea then why did the president exempt himself and other govt. officials from particpating in it??
Kind of like how these same officials promote public school while sending their own kids to private.
Shouldn't they show support for their legislation and be the first to receive the "care" they wish to force on the rest of us? And that they don't I think, says all there needs to be said. Actions do speak louder than words

Examples of Canadians who come to US for health care because of lack of timely or quality care:
Canadians visiting the U.S. to receive health care

Some residents of Canada travel to the United States because it provides the nearest facilty for their needs. Some do so on quality grounds or because of easier access. * According to a September 14, 2007, article from CTV News, Canadian Liberal MP Belinda Stronach went to the United States for breast cancer surgery in June 2007. Stronach's spokesperson Greg MacEachern was quoted in the article saying that the US was the best place to have this type of surgery done. Stronach paid for the surgery out of her own pocket.[46] Prior to this incident, Stronach had stated in an interview that she was against two-tiered health care.[47] * When Robert Bourassa, the premier of Quebec, needed cancer treatment, he went to the US to get it.[48] * In 2007, it was reported that Canada sent scores of pregnant women to the US to give birth.[49] In 2007 a woman from Calgary who was pregnant with quadruplets was sent to Great Falls, Montana to give birth. An article on this incident states, "There was no room at any other Canadian neonatal intensive care unit."[50] * Champion figure skater Audrey Williams needed a hip replacement. Even though she waited two years and suffered in pain, she still did not get the surgery, because the waiting list was so long. So she went to the US and spent her own money to get the surgery.[51] * A January 19, 2008, article in The Globe And Mail states, "More than 150 critically ill Canadians many with life-threatening cerebral hemorrhages have been rushed to the United States since the spring of 2006 because they could not obtain intensive-care beds here. Before patients with bleeding in or outside the brain have been whisked through U.S. operating-room doors, some have languished for as long as eight hours in Canadian emergency wards while health-care workers scrambled to locate care." • "choose to go to another" ? really? without government regulation, there's nothing stopping mergers from happening, and then you simply wont have a choice. Instead of a government that at least pretends to be democratic, you have a single corporation that controls everything. Thats already happening quickly...and as government gets less and less power, corporations with no need to obey the constitution or anything, will simply take over (as if they already havent) You seem a bit naive.

  • @mrrealtime no one is disputing there needs to be some reglulation but not absolute control. And seriously as long as competition is allowed ,then the natural state of things is people will go where they will get the best service, cheaper prices and better product. Isn't that how you go about things in your life? And the govt IS a monopoly and the govt IS already not obeying the constitution- so what's your point?

  • @mrrealtime You already have and are accepting that which you fear- your just more comfortable because it carries the name "government" and not "corporation" (but the practice is the same)

I gotta run, appreciate the conversation

  • @mrrealtime one more thing. do you understand how many in government sit on boards, own or are invested in those big corps. you hate??? No, I am naive, I see the truth.

  • so wait, corporations are somehow MORE responsible than the government? Aren't they the ones effectively bankrupting the government so it has no ability to regulate them anymore, effectively letting them use slave labor to produce , among other things, drugs that only keep us sick?

  • I love when she says Bang Up Job at 0:20, it's really awesome.

  • Ohh! She looks good.

  • I really love handing over $850/month for health care that denies or does not cover anything. Yeah, it's a friggin' scam.

  • @BlurredVisi0n Indeed in Canada you have been cutting back on gov including health care via privatization. Good idea. Let's privatize health care here in USA as it really is mostly gov-run anyway. Where has gov reduced costs on ANYTHING? No Where. Highest costs of health care in USA: MA, the only state w/100% single-payer health care. Highest rate of increase in cost on health care: MA. Single-payer HC has been a failure in 4 states: MA, ME, HI & TN. It's insane to have the fed gov handle it.

  • @macitymac1 What are these "fair-weather fans" you speak of? I don't think it's too important who is on our money, at least ours doesn't say "In God We Trust." We have to "grovel" with the US before we do things because it's larger and more aggressive then Canada. We're also not $54,911,821,900,000 in debt. (54.9 trillion)

  • @heintron I don't know how things are up in Sweden but its a mess over here in the Untied States. I don't know if your Government is trying to help your country or trying to run its economy into the ground and bankrupt it but that is what her videos are all about and even tho there funny as hell she tells the truth about how our government is fucking us over, but they are not retarted.

  • @BlurredVisi0n And you know what else I'm sick of, giving money to those fair-weather fans. How about this though, when Canada does actually do something meaningful, say stop putting Queen Elizabeth on your currency like every other member of the british empire, or actually being able to do something without grovelling to our government first, let me know.

  • @BlurredVisi0n haha, your a funny guy, without our country spending money on wars (we may have started second Iraq war, that's debatable), your wealth envy wouldn't exist. I'm sick and tired of people who don't live here, saying that our way of life sucks, and that all we do is start wars for our own personal gain, but then when something happens to your country or someone else's country who bitches about us, needs us, they are quick to change their tune.

  • @macitymac1It works better if everyone pays slightly more tax and gets their health care, hell if the governmental wanted to cover car insurance, and everyone who drove a car had to pay a bit of extra tax i'd be down with that. In Canada, cars aren't valued on the same level as humans. I have relatives without money who would be dead without the government healthcare. I say take all the money your Country spends starting wars and put it into healthcare, but we both know that won't happen.

  • @BlurredVisi0n And the only reason that our healthcare system isn't run by the government is because here, healthcare is treated as it is, a service, not a right. Once we get the lawyers out of the ER's, and allow people to buy health insurance the same way they get car insurance, costs will go down dramatically. Also, if you actually worked with the hospital, you could structure your bill like a car or loan payment, to where it's not a financial burden.
