I LOVE that you chose Ian Somerhalder to play Kyle and not Ian! Everyone says he should play Ian, and I just think of Somerhalder as Damon all the time and even though I love Damon, I see Somerhalder as playing a character that's not as nice, so I thought he was perfect for Kyle. I like you're entire cast except Nina Dobrev. I love her, but I can't see her as Melanie

because saoirse has been casted as melanoe if ian somerhalder plays ian thats disgusting! I think melanie needs to be older and then ian can play ian.. saoirse would be good as pet though, shes just far to young to be mel

I absolutely imagined AnnaSophia Robb as Wanda/Pet however with the older actors playing Jared and Ian, it just didn't seem like a good fit...

Eric Bana as Doc is simply wonderful ;)
in my opinion ian somerhalder should be ian o'shea, however, chace is also a good choice and they would fit well as being brothers - concerning their looks especially

Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev, Trevor Gagnon, Helena Bonham Carter, Eric Bana and maaayybbeee Meryl Streep DO NOT fit the characters. Ian is waaaaaaaaaay to hot to play Kyle and Nina is...well she just doesn't fit the role.
