Afleet Alex all day and every way. His Belmont was a testament to his heart and his offspring are proof of his undeniable lineage. It's just very unfortunate that we were unable to see him race as a 4 year old or even that years BCC. He would have munched on Curlin with another patented stretch run burst. The horse was obviously getting better with age and that damn ankle injury ruined everything on the track for Alex. Obviously, he was better as distance increased, too. Marathoner.

@RuffianQueenOfRacing when i checked horse racing nation i saw that foolish pleasure came in first...zenyatta never ran a 1.5 miles but she ran 1.25 miles in 2 min where avatar did a 1.5 miles in 2:27 and zenyatta ran the fastest 10 feet in a mile on grass ever...that shit about secretariat means nothing and zenyatta was a different horse....she ran from the back of the pack..she won 19 races in a row zenyattas time was a result of the other horses setting the pace..think before you speak stupid

i still have to think smarty jones was the best of the decade....i mean to win the derby then the preakness by 11 lengths then to be pushed the whole time in the longest race of the crown and still lose by a slim margin is incredible
