What sounds like bongos is the camera autofocus adjusting. But MP products of this vintage are definitely inferior. Way overscale, and miserable mechanisms. I replaced all the motors with Sagami or Kato, and rebuilt some of the mechanisms completely. That's the only way they run OK.

Wiring for what? The decoder instllation? It's so simple a 9 year old could do it. I can try to take some photos and email them to you, if that helps.
