what do you mean cheating, its more of considered style of playing, its almost hard to think how your suppose to cheat in ddr. if you think the arrows aren't working out for you then finding a way to deal with those arrows is your best option, in this case, you, trying to keep the rhythm by stepping on "invisible arrows" (basically adding notes to the areas of the song without any arrows or stops) is just natural way for a player to find the right rhythm and keep the momentum going.
