The Pittsburgh Symphony debuts in Kaohsiung Taiwan, Republic of China at the new Main Stadium shaped like a dragon in its first public use in May 2009 before the World Games held in the summer of 2009. Manfred Honeck conducts the 1812 Overture by Tchaikovsky and the Ode to Joy from Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. Maestro Honeck in his tour wrap up interview reveals how pleased he is that the city officials in Kaohsiung made special effort to get the Pittsburgh to play in Taiwan. Video includes the food festival adjacent to the stadium, concert footage of Beethoven's Ninth with the Choirs of Kaohsiung and the Vienna State Opera with audience reaction.
