Cloud is remembering Aeris and what he has told her and all the kind words she has gave him. He also blames himself for her death but in Kingdom hearts(2) he has a new chance and he's promising he will never leave her again like he did in FF7 (because she died)

Its Aeris in america localization, and Aerith in japan. I personally prefer Aeris as it sounds better. I understand though people refer her as both in same way Megaman is rockman or Robotnik is called Eggman.
