How to make an easy and affordable interactive whiteboard. You need a wiimote, a special IR Pen (I buy mine from wiipenmaker on ebay- he is helpful and fast), an usb bluetooth adaptor, and open source smoothboard program (I use BoonJin from Boonjin.com)
If you have questions, just let me know.

  • is yours responsive enough to use?

  • can you draw from a little distance like half a meter if the ir pen is strong enough ?

  • or you could just go on ebay and buy a smartboard which will probably do a better job than the wii remote

  • Smoothboard now comes in a premium version that is not free, but the extra features that it has are well worth the low price. Contact me for details, but I don't want to put the price here because it may go up a little bit some day. Anyway I am a reseller, and I make great IR pens too.

  • What is the name of the programm

  • @MegaPilotguy there is a way to turn your overhead into a computer projector, check out/ search DIY projector on youtube and it is simple, you can use a laptop, or monitor

  • This is great! So it looks like you can even project onto the regular whiteboard (instead of a screen) if you wanted and still get the same results. Then you can just draw on the whiteboard directly with a dry erase marker.

  • This is amazing. Having trouble finding an IR pen in the uk tho :(

  • @meruntingz1 PBS kids is awesome. Also multiplication blah blah, and google teaching kids to read. At upper levels there is TeacherTube, and MIT records and releases many of their lectures here on YouTube. Also, for fun check out PC Theremin, OE-Cake, glove-pie, Phun, and Crayon-Physics. Sorry, stupid YouTube does not let me post web addresses. Message me for more exact information.

  • what are some of the websites your using for the kids?
