im getting this same one...can you tell me what to expect and everything about starting to play the violin? I already play piano..so this isnt my first instrument...

@thebiznizboyz well i also play piano and both instruments are completely different. What to expect: The rosin will be too hard so sand it down w/ sand paper, the bridge is "big," to me its fine but people say its too big, when you hook it up to an amp if your amp goes static its because you have to position the bridge in a certain way, its pretty loud without amplification. I like piano better. the violin is an easy instrument to pick up. oh and when tuning make sure to be VERY careful

@thebiznizboyz Oh snap, I misread your question. Learning violin hmm... At first it will be hard switching from string to string, but if you stick to distributive learning, you'll be just fine(trying it and then stop and then 5 minutes later try again and repeat the preoces) Start off easy with learning a song. learn mary had a little lamb. I learned it in like 5 minutes so so can you.once you find sheet music for the violin, google violin finger chart in images and you will be a pro in no time.

That bridge does look a bit big... I've been thinking about investing in one of these, how do you like the quality so far? (My acoustic's tuning peg box just broke so its either 100$ to repair or $100 to buy this, haha)

@Squeak2 well its my first violin so i may not be a good resource but overall its great. The tuning pegs stay in tune. its pretty loud without amplification. the sound of the strings sound pretty depressed but ya can replace them with your other strings. i use it to play metalcore. i hook it up to my deathmetal pedal and make my own violin riffs. so if your a classical violinist, i guess its not for you, but if your a beginner, its great. if not, i'd say fix yours..dont know if thta hepls sorry
