In the world of collectables, there are many different things which people find interesting and valuable. An ever increasing, but less well known area of interest is Military and Deactivated weapons.

In this video we see two fine examples, both unique and desirable. There is probably no more a recognizable weapon in the world today. Used since 1947, and still in active service in most parts of the world, the unmistakable shape of the AK47 Assault Rifle is both a symbol for freedom and liberation as much as it is a symbol of terror and violent atrocity.

In this video we see a Russian AK47 Type3 assault rifle with milled receiver from the Izhevsk factory. All completely original with original wooden furniture and magazine. It's deactivated to current UK standards.

The other is a more modern Romanian AK47M. This is one mean looking bit of kit. As well as it being complete with its original wooden and bakelite furniture, this one also has some awesome tactical gear fitted to it. It has a full RIS (rail integration system) on the fore-grip made by UTG in aluminum. This RIS system has four rails (upper, lower, left and right) to allow fitment of a vast variety of accessories from grenade launchers, laser sites and torches. The side rails are covered by UTG rail protectors on each side which make for a more comfortable grip as well.

As well as the fore grip, it has an adjustable tactical stock (AR15 style) made by Tapco U.S.A and a tactical pistol grip manufactured by TDi Arms. This Romanian AK47 is 'Old Specification' deactivation making it quite a rare find over here.

As stated before, both of these deactivated weapons are 100% legal to own in the UK and both have certification. Additionally, all ammunition pictured in the video is inert, 100% legal in the UK and has struck primers to indicate so. Enjoy the video and please comment wisely.

  • in the uk wat is the biggest firarm ur alowed and r u alowed fully autos beacuse i want to get into reenacting

  • Please check with your local police constabulary for the exact law on firearms. In the UK, no one may own a fully automatic fire-arm. Restrictions on other firearms are very strict. The two AK47's in this video have been deactivated & certificated to UK requirements. Therefore they are rendered incapable of functioning as a firearm, EVER, making them legal to own.

Before contemplating the purchase of deactivated weapons or replicas, I would suggest contacting your local re-inactment club.

  • Im glad i live in the US, it suck that stuff is illegal in the UK

  • Could be worse, there could be people walking around with live versions of these things. we much safer not having them here. One can still appreciate them without risk to life in this way and they look just as great mounted.

  • Nobody in america just walks around with them. more people are killed by drunk drivers then guns.plus more people are killed by handguns then AK47s

  • Absolutely.

The comment was not related in any way to your country of origin. Quite the opposite. In some countries, individuals can own these items and freely fire them off. Many people, some distance can be killed by the resulting fall of ammunition or indeed nearer individuals, by negligent discharge. After all, it's not the individuals who are disciplined with these items that are the problem per-se. It's those who aren't and/or the intention they have behind their use.

  • Great video, I had been wondering about how to acquire deactivated rifles like these in the US, and if it is even legal. I would love to own a deactivated Russian type 3, even if it doesn't fire its a beautiful collectors piece. Do you know any websites I could check out regarding this info? Thanks

  • Guns to do not kill people, people do, there is nothing wrong with owning an AK47, I have one, I just had to move to the USA to own one, since the UK only lets you own deactivated ones.

  • Very nice rifles. I would love to have an orignal Russian AK-47. In the US, we can own semi automatic versions of the AK, but we can't own deactivated military AK's. I have a Chinese copy of the Type 3 AK-47 and I would say it's probably every bit as good as a Russian one. I also have an underfolder milled AK.

  • were could i find a deactivated one like that.. i want a stamped receiver do they come with the auto sears also or are they removed?
